Job Description
We are seeking the skills of a Hydraulic Fitter.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Certification: Qualified Artisan: Trade Certificate (Fitter/Diesel Mechanic/Millwright) or equivalent.
- Technical Knowledge: Proven ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
- Experience: Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing hydraulic systems is typically required.
- Tools: Proficient in using specialized hand tools and power tools.
- Physical Ability: Capable of heavy lifting and working in challenging environments.
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Working in high-pressure environments, often with oil and heat.
- Willingness to work overtime or shifts as needed.
- Occasional work at heights or in confined spaces.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Installation & Assembly: Assemble and install new hydraulic components and machinery, such as pumps, motors, and cylinders.
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on hydraulic systems to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic systems using, at times, technical manuals and schematics.
- Component Fabrication: Fabricate, assemble, and fit hydraulic parts, including hose crimping and sealing systems.
- Testing: Perform pressure tests and evaluate system performance.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures, such as wearing PPE, in both workshop and field environments.
