Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Instrumentation Technician to join our
team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant
instrumentation, DCS replacements, and instrument calibration and testing.
This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to ensure
quality assurance and control throughout all instrumentation activities.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Qualification in Instrumentation Technology – essential.
- Experience in DCS replacements – Preferred
- Strong knowledge of plant instrumentation systems and processes.
- Proficiency in instrument calibration and testing.
- Driver’s License – valid and unendorsed.
- Proficiency in English (Afrikaans proficiency preferred).
- Sasol project experience – highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes related to instrumentation installations and
commissioning. - Experience working in high-pressure plant environments with large-scale
instrumentation systems. - Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant instrumentation
systems. - Oversee and participate in DCS (Distributed Control System) replacements,
ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime. - Calibrate, test, and commission various types of instruments to ensure proper
functionality and accuracy. - Conduct inspections and QA/QC checks to maintain compliance with industry
and project standards. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure instrumentation aligns with
project specifications. - Provide technical support for plant instrumentation, identifying and resolving
issues promptly. - Adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring all instrumentation work
complies with regulations.
