Job Description
Position available for a Machinist in Vanderbijlpark.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
- Engineering Trade Certificate in Fitting and Turning with 5 - 10 years’ experience.
- CNC Machine programming (Fanuc and Siemens) using Mastercam Software
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Ensure health, safety and environmental procedures and legal requirements are adhered to.
- Report any deviations or concerns to the Safety Officer and/or Superintendent.
- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Pre-plan tooling and methods of machining.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Select appropriate setup on machine and perform the correct setup method. The setup must be accurate as per procedures.
- Operate machine and equipment according to work instructions.
- Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
- Determine and program the size of the job and the speed of machine.
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
- Perform routine machine maintenance inspections.
- Assembly and Disassembly of work pieces before and after machining.
- Machine and Drilling procedures to be followed as per QCP.
- Conduct housekeeping and clean machines to ensure your area is neat and safe.
- All AD HOC Duties related to machining and instructions within reason.
