Forklift / Diesel Technician
Job Description
Join our team who has a National footprint. We are seeking a Forklift / Diesel Technician in Epping, Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Trade Petrol / Diesel Mechanic / Forklift Mechanic
- Working knowledge of forklifts, automotive or earthmoving equipment
- Valid drivers’ license – essential
- Must have own basic tools
- General hydraulics knowledge will be an advantage
- Breakdown experience
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Servicing and general preventative maintenance on a fleet of forklifts
- Knowledge of basic electronics / electrical components
- Ability to read and understand wiring circuit diagrams
- Experienced in diagnosing and troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Zapi and Curtis Electronic consoles would be an advantage
- Must be willing to work standby
Key Areas of Responsibility
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Attending to breakdowns afterhours and on standby
- Repairs and maintenance work on electrical, gas and diesel units
- Maintaining work standards and ensuring attention to detail
