Senior Draughtsman (Parow)
Job Description
Our client focuses primarily on large turnkey projects, and manages the entire development process, from design to manufacture, installation and commissioning. They have extensive experience in fan and air technology engineering. The industries they serve include the mining, power generation, industrial processing, agricultural, marine / fishing, poultry, commercial and HVAC sectors.
The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering, they are seeking an experienced Senior Draughtsman.
Minimum Requirements / Qualifications
Experience and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Draughtsman, preferably within an engineering, manufacturing, HVAC or ventilation environment.
- National Diploma, Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Draughting would be advantageous.
- Proven Solid Works experience
- Driver's license / own transport
- Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Good understanding of mechanical drawings, manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
- Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, ducting or fan-related products would be highly advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a technical team.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Prepare detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for HVAC, ventilation and air movement systems.
- Produce manufacturing, fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Develop drawings for fans, ducting, air-handling systems and associated mechanical components.
- Interpret engineering designs, specifications and technical requirements.
- Make design modifications and drawing revisions as required.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering standards and project specifications.
- Work closely with Engineers, Manufacturing and other departments to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
- Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturability.
- Provide technical support to production and fabrication teams where required.
- Assist with resolving design and manufacturing queries.
- Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.

- Your standard working hours will 08:00 to 16:45, Monday to Thursday, and 08:00 to 15:00 on Fridays—with the option to leave at 15:00 if work is completed
